Fix it Friday at I Heart Faces!

Alright, here we go! Here is the original photo we were asked to work with today! Love the snow on her cap and the smiley face!

Here is my tweaked photo. I cropped her, sharpened her. I opted to try and correct the blurry snow piece by her eyes and her cheek that was white from her big smile, it isn’t perfect, but not quite as distracting. I also ran a defog on her and then warmed up the picture a little.

For additional fun I ran PW’s Seventies action on her and came up with this one below. I think it is actually really sweet! 

I also like this colorized action too. Some color, but faded just seems sweet on this shot!

This is at the sliding hill in Cold Spring. It is fun to see the green and yellows peaking between all the houses.

Since we spend so much time doing the swimming thing, I figured this would be a good activity to do a collage with. I did use this website for the free collage making ability. It worked just fine for me ;)! Enjoy!

Fix it Friday

Today’s Fix it Friday included this photograph. Here is the beginning.

I opened the JPG in the RAW editor and edited the levels to brighten it up and tone down the yellow. At that point I created a very noisy picture and had to run it through my Noiseware program to tone it down.

I know I lost some texture, but I have decided that it was worth it for the recovered face on this pretty girl.

 

After that I ran the Lovely PW action and added a vignette. There you have it, my rendition of this lovely lady in front of a barn :)!

Signs of Spring

My mother in law has this wonderful magnolia shrub. It is an amazing shrub in that it blooms before the leaves arrive on the branches.  I have been watching it for the past few weeks anticipating the blossoms erupting. I was delighted when I looked out the patio window before dinner last night and saw that over half the blossoms had come and been ready for me to photograph :)!

I used my Hoya Close Up Kit and tried to grab as many pics as I could. It was a windy night so I am thankful that in spite of that, I still was able to get a few detailed shots.
