A Kutless Concert

I realized the other day that it had been eons since I had been to a concert! We had an opportunity with the Opening Act competition this past month to be able to be at the Kutless concert. Minsan was playing bass on the house band so he was the opening band, for the opening band for the opening band for Kutless. You like that, yep the opening band for the band Museum, who opened before Chasen, who opened for Kutless…yep, crazy!

Here was the stage all set while the band practiced and did a sound check at 4:00 pm.

Lots of practice, then it was time to wait it out before the concert. At 6:00 we hit up the Hospitality room and had some snacks before the concert was to start at 7:00.

After a great concert, we ran off to Applebees for a snack! It was a great day had by all :)!

Rain, Rain Go Away

With all the rain and cloudy weather we have had, I have been longing for summer and more flowers. I bumped into these this morning on my archived files and really started looking forward to seeing them bloom again this year!!! These were taken last year on June 11th.

Flowering Crabs take 2

This morning while the sky was blue and the sun was out, I tried again. The wind came in gusts and then settled still for a quick moment. I took some quick shots…then the wind would blow…then I would wait for the leaves to calm…then take some more quick shots. Thankfully I got a few shots in. Now it is cloudy and ugly again.

Signs of Spring – My Flowering Crab

Much to my dismay my flowering crab has arrived to full bloom, but it has managed to fall right into a stormy, cold, and windy weather time for us. So, each time I go out to take these pictures I take 70 shots and maybe get 5 mediocre ones. The wind is soooo frustrating! I didn’t want to risk not getting some of them even if they aren’t great. For all I know is that tomorrow I will wake up and they will be all blown off and I won’t be able to get ANY great shots of my tree…oh that would break my heart. Here is hoping to calm day tomorrow!

30,000 Pictures

I am amazing that I have now rounded the corner of yet one more milestone….yep, 30,000. I have certainly taken a lot of pictures in the 2 years that I have had my camera. It isn’t the best picture, but indeed this is the one that rounded the bend and brought me to 30,000.

It was taken at the In the Pink program that was at our church last night.

I think what is most interesting is realizing that cameras are like cars and they have a certain “life” to them. A car typically has only so many miles it will run until eventually it dies. Apparently the same goes for a camera. There isn’t any surety of what the exact milestone is, but apparently a rough estimate for a camera is about 100,000. Some go longer, some go shorter…I thought it was good to know that within 5 years I might just have to buy  a new camera. Not sure what the replacement will be at that time and thankfully I don’t need to worry about it now.

I look forward to the next years to see where my camera takes me on this adventure that I am enjoying ohhhhhh so much!! Personally, I will be really sad when this one dies, we have become quite fond of each other!!!

Signs of Spring

This tree was outside the Holiday Inn after swimming. I just love all the flowering trees and this was was especially amazing because it was so fragrant! Hmmm!
