May 10th Spring Signs

Here are todays growth signs after yesterday's rain. All but one of my trees are getting their leaves, the grass is greening up and my flowers are starting to get their leafy greens...awesome!

Spring Magnolias

I was so excited today when I got to my mother in laws and found her magnolias coming into bloom. In spite of the serious rain I couldn't help but get out there and prove it happened! LOVE new spring blossoms!

Today's Spring Growth

I am hoping to show each days noticeable spring growth over the next few weeks. This is about all that is happening in my yard these days. I am hoping that the rains we have today and tomorrow will bring about more growth than we have had yet.

Still Longing for Color

I know spring is starting to arrive, but it isn't to the degree that I am longing for! Bring on the red!!!! Where are all the lovely colors?!!! Come on Spring, Bring It!!!

Super Signs of Spring!!!

Flashback to Fall --- Chasing Color

I am still waiting for all the color to come this spring to my town. In the mean time I bumped into these and sadly thought that fall looked better than drabby spring for now.

Another Sign of Spring

I doubt there is no other greater sign of spring that the breaking of ice off of Minnesota's lakes and rivers. It was great to see the way in which the ice breaks away and turns into these great sharp ice chunks. What amazes me is how drab everything can still look at this time of year before the warmth comes and all the spring flowers start shooting up! The only colors we can see here are all the birds coming out.
